Vodafone`s IPL bonanza: upto 85% discount in International Roaming rates while Roaming in South Africa

Vodafone Essar ties up with Vodacom – a joint venture with Vodafone Group – to offer reduced Roaming rates in South Africa
Mumbai, April 17, 2009: Vodafone Essar, one of India’s leading cellular services providers, today announced significant reduction in international roaming rates for its Postpaid customers traveling to South Africa during the upcoming DLF Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket tournament. Vodafone Essar is the official partner to DLF IPL 2009.
Vodafone Essar is offering these special rates in partnership with the leading South African mobile services provider Vodacom, which is a joint venture partner with the Vodafone Group.
Vodafone Essar’s Postpaid customers can select Vodacom as their default network while roaming in South Africa during IPL and enjoy upto 85% discount on calls, SMS and GPRS services. Customers can make local and international calls at Rs 12.6/min and Rs 34.8/min respectively and enjoy the discounted benefits. All local incoming calls will be charged at Rs. 12.5/min and SMS would be charged at Rs 5/sms, which are special discounted rates during the tournament. Special benefits would be extended to GPRS users who get 85% discount on the data usage with a minimal charge of 90 p/ 10KB of data usage.
